Care Certificate Course for Nurses!
The Care Certificate is an entry-level training programme designed for health and social care workers in the UK. It was introduced in 2015 following the Cavendish Review to ensure that everyone new to care has the same knowledge, skills, and behaviours to deliver safe, compassionate, and high-quality care.
The course is made up of 15 standards that cover essential areas such as duty of care, safeguarding adults and children, communication, infection prevention and control, privacy and dignity, and basic life support.
It is usually completed by:
- Healthcare assistants, support workers, and adult social care workers starting their career.
- Staff moving into care roles without previous formal training.
The Care Certificate builds confidence and competence, giving learners the essential knowledge and practical skills to provide safe and compassionate care. It also serves as a strong foundation for further qualifications and reassures employers, service users, and regulators that staff are well-prepared to deliver high-quality support.
